Requirements

Must be 18 or older. Cadet members must be at least the age of 15.  Cadet members may provide support in non-operational areas.

All applicants will be subject to a complete background check.

All applicants must pass a physical examination as per the guidelines of the New Jersey State Fireman's Association.

All members must successfully complete Firefighter I training within one year of being elected to membership.

Must respond to a certain minimum % of calls per month.

 

Training

Firefighter 1 training consists of over 138 hours of State Certified training.  The training is completed through Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy.

All training is paid for by the Department.
